Axiom 4787 is an FRC Robotics team from Chicago, Illinois. As a team based out of a public school in an urban area, we make it our mission to work towards enabling all students, regardless of physical and socio-economic differences, to participate in the team and build skills necessary to succeed as engineers, scientists, and citizens. This vision was developed in response to the lack of diversity in STEM fields and as the current inaccessibility of technology for many people.
Axiom hopes to actualize this mission through the following:
1) Engaging members in engineering, computer science, and business skills through project-based learning
2) Providing a roughly 50:50 gendered workspace, inclusive of non-binary members
3) Competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC)
4) Mentoring fellow teams, both in FRC and other levels of FIRST
5) Promoting the FIRST mantra of gracious professionalism
6) Implementing non-STEM service projects that aim to improve the community as a whole
