New year, new us! Right now, we are about five weeks into the year and progressing quickly. Everyone has been working hard and collaborating to create the best robots. Let's see what each sub-team has done to contribute:
Our CAD team is the backbone of the whole robotics team. They have been working to design both of the robots in a tight timeframe and working with Mechanical to be accurate in their design. The newcomers are going crazy, designing one of the robots themselves. Learning the important skills to design such complex robots took time, but it was an easy hill for CAD to cross. If CAD designs the skeleton of the robot, then Electrical connects the veins. Their work is crucial and some of the hardest in the entire team. They patiently waited for CAD and Mechanical to finish their part. Even with a short amount of time, they are working furiously to get the robot ready for testing. We are not done yet. To achieve such accomplishments, Management is key. They are working hard to acquire sponsors for the team and keep the team on track. The responsibility for updating the weekly blog and the website is on Management which they have kept up with. Also, a new banner is in progress, all thanks to Management. Our Mechanical sub-team has been working hard every day to get the robot ready for Programming. Expecting to finish both robots on schedule, they've been putting in the hours, staying at school as late as 6. Despite the demanding schedule, they consistently rise to the occasion. They’ve completed the chassis for both robots in record-breaking time. Currently, they are working with other sub-teams, like assisting CAD in using accurate measurements. The Programming sub-team has been working diligently on Swerve drive, arm, and climbing mechanisms. As you can imagine, it's been programming all day every day, but thankfully the rookies adjusted amazingly. They learned Java and the wpilib library. With this knowledge, they are coding the Everybot with Swerve Drive. For smooth sailing, the team has come up with a GitHub repository management to ensure working code and avoid mistakes made last year.
